What are physical conditions required to visit Alsace by bike?

Our cycling tours in Alsace do not present any major difficulties. The main relief of Alsace is the Vosges mountains. You will have all the pleasure to admire it while staying at its feet, especially by taking the wine route. These bike tours are affordable to casual cyclists. For those who have doubt about their physical form do not pass by the beautiful bike tours offered by the Alsace region and choose to ride an electric bike. You will be surprised and fully enjoy by this way of ride and travel.

When is the best time for a cycling holiday in Alsace?

Alsace enjoys a semi-continental climate, with cold dry winters, and hot, sometimes stormy summers. Temperatures often fall into the negative during winter, whereas it can rises to around 20 to 25 ° C in summer. The advantage is that there is no many rain in the plain, protected by the Vosges. The region can be visited almost all year round, each season with its advantages.

Like most of the french region, the period we recommend for you cycling holidays in Alsace, is spring, the end of the summer and early autumn for the mild climate and seasonal tourism.

If you are planning family holidays with kids, and according to school holidays, the summer period is almost imperative. In that case favour the beginning or the end of summer for more tranquility.The second part of July and particularly the first half of August are the busiest in the accomodations. If you really like to book during this time, plan your cycling trip early enough.

When do we have to book our cycling holiday in Alsace?

Most of our cycling trips are itinerants. You ride between hotels and guest houses. So we have to book several accommodations for one stay. France is a very attractive and busy destination, therefore in order to put the odds in your favour and ensure accomodations availabilities, we recommend to book your bike trip as early as possible. Likewise for family cycling holidays as family room (for 3 or 4 people) are rare.
