The Château was built in the 13th century in the heart of Saint-Émilion. Thanks to the quality of these exceptional vintages, its wines were recognized among the most characteristic of the region of Saint-Émilion from the 16th century. The owners, for over a century, continue the great tradition of the noble vineyards of yesteryear. It has long been the natural backdrop for many cinema films and the 3rd th shooting location in France (Les Misérables, La Fille de d’Artagnan, Jacquou Le Croquant, …). Sarlat is today one of the most beautiful medieval complexes in Europe.
Free lunch in Sarlat Transfer by coach to Montignac. Guided tour of the Grotte de Lascaux II – The most visited decorated cave in the world and the most famous in France! The walls of this cave discovered in 1940 by teenagers are decorated with nearly 1900 painted or engraved representations of animals, dating back to of about 18,000 years before Jesus Christ! A true masterpiece!
In order to allow all audiences to admire the masterpieces of prehistory, it is 200 meters from the original cave that an exact copy, Lascaux II, was opened in 1983. An identical reconstruction of the Lascaux site was undertaken (same paints, same techniques, same pigments, etc.). This facsimile reproduces the Salle des Taureaux and the Axial Diverticule, or 90% of Lascaux’s paintings.
Lascaux 2 is nonetheless an exceptional site to visit offering a thrilling spectacle.

Listed as a historical monument, the cave of Font-de -Gaume is in Aquitaine, the last cavity with polychrome paintings still open to the public. It contains some of the oldest cave paintings in the world (the paintings are original).
More than 200 painted and engraved parietal figures, organized in composition, even in scenes, occupy the four main parts of the 120-meter long network.
