The Château was built in the 13th century in the heart of Saint-Émilion. Capital of the Périgord Noir, Sarlat is an exceptionally well-preserved city. More than 1,000 years of architecture live through its alleys, slate roofs and walls of blond and warm stone. The impressive number of buildings listed or classified per square meter makes Sarlat the leading European city in terms of heritage.

It has long been the natural backdrop for many cinema films and the 3rd th shooting location in France (Les Misérables, La Fille de d’Artagnan, Jacquou Le Croquant, …). Sarlat is today one of the most beautiful medieval complexes in Europe.
