FAQ

You want to know more about our Our cycling trip ? Here is the FAQ !

When is the best time for cycling the Vélodyssée?

The most popular period for cycling the Vélodyssée, especially along the Atlantic coast, is the summer season and more exactly from July 10 to August 20. If you are looking for peacefulness on the beaches and along the trip, plan your cycling holiday outside this period. As often, May, June and September, are the most enjoyable months for bike rides, except perhaps for the water which is still a bit cool in May and June!

What is the surface of the Velodyssee and what kind of bike for a holiday on the Velodyssee?

The north part of the Vélodyssée along the Atlantic coast, between Nantes and La Rochelle has a few sections on pleasant stabilized paths (“white paths”) and so unpaved. Most of them are on the Vendée part. On this section, better to use wide hybrid tires type.

On the other hand, on the south part, from La Rochelle to Hendaye, all the stages are paved.

What do we do with the bikes at the end of the Velodyssee cycle tour ?

The interest of renting bikes during your cycling holidays along the Vélodyssée lies in not having to worry about their transport or their recovery. Bikes will be delivered to your first hotel and you will leave them, at the end of the ride, at the last hotel.

Cyclists who want to ride their own bikes organize themselves most of the time. However, we can offer you, on some bicycle trips, the delivery of your vehicle to the arrival point. This very comfortable solution is increasingly in demand. Contact us.
