In the country of the thousand and one castles, you will discover, riding from medieval villages to other ones, historic sites as well as accessible people. You will be able to slip into the skin of the Périgourdin citizen by tasting the succulent local gastronomy.
Coming in Périgord means undoubtedly the desire to coming again there. You will discover the medieval village of Monflanquin, Monpazier, Belvès, Domme and the capital of black Périgord: Sarlat.
We will pass by the castles of Gavaudin, Bonaguil, Biron, Castelnaud la Chapelle. Since millenia, the Man likes this area with various facets !

Arrival the day before at Casseneuil.

For the not motorized riders, pick up at the SNCF railway station of Agen. Night at a hotel.

Day 1:

Departure from Casseneuil. Ride to the medieval village of Montflanquin with its very pretty central place and its beautiful half-timbered houses. You will have your first pastoral lunch before a free visit of the village. The evening, arrival at Gavaudin. Night in countryside hotel (swimming pool).

Day 2:

Visit of the castle of Gavaudin (XIème century). After having left the valley of Gavaudun, crossing of the small village of Cuzorn (ruins of the castle, troglodyte habitat). Arrival at the castle of Bonaguil. Pastoral lunch and visit of the castle. Night at a hotel** or in a "village hotel", according to the season.

Day 3:

Departure for the castle of Biron. Lunch under the ramparts and visit of the castle which was one of the 4 baronnies of Périgord. You will discover the decorations of the famous French movie "Les Visiteurs". Arrival at the end of the afternoon  in medieval village of Montpazier (XIIth century). The best of the Medieval villages, jewel of medieval architecture. Free visit. Night at a hotel**.

Day 4:

Departure for the village of Fongalop. After your pastoral lunch, you will visit this the Troglodytic sites. Arrival  in the evening in the medieval village of Belvès. Free visit and night in B&B.

Day 5:

Departure for the castle of Castelnaud. Founded in XIIth century, it is the most visited of South of France. Lunch at the castle and visit. Arrival at Domme, splendid village with a scenic view on the valley of the Dordogne river. Free visit of this royal village of French foundation and night at a hotel**.

Day 6:

You will reach Sarlat la Caneda, city of the Middle Age and capital of black Périgord. More than 1000 years of architecture are living through lanes, roofs of Lauze stone as well as yellow and hot stone walls. Currently first European city by the number of classified building, it is in one of the country inns that you will spend your last night.

Day 7:

Transfer until Casseneuil.
