Located at the north of the Dordogne, The “Perigord Vert” (Green perigord) constitutes a genuine undulating and furrowed bosky with a multitude of rivers.

It profits, from its localization, of a particularly moderate climate which makes the live pleasant in all seasons.

This excursion located in the area of Nontron will make you discover Brantôme called " Venice of Perigord "

The territory of the Nontronnais Country is particularly rich of a whole cultural inheritance from several millenia of human presence. Here, as in the whole of North Dordogne, the man modelled the landscape and left multiple prints: castles, traditional habitat, archeological sites and traditions.

Day 1:

Reception of the riders  day before in Périgueux. Transfer until Brantôme for the dinner and the night in hotel ** For the motorized riders, reception before dinnerat the hotel ** in Brantôme.

Day 2 :

Departure from Brantôme with 10:00.

Brantôme, it is initially a site : a cliff while growing, surmounted by woods, an abbey. The vallage is sorrounded by the Dronne river. The " Venice of Périgord" is an island !

Passage by the old Cistercian abbey of Boshaud. Visit and halt for lunch at the castle of Puyguilhem.

Located in a very beautiful shaded park with alleys of limes, this castle built bay François I^er, is worthy of the most beautiful residences of the Loire Valley. In spite of his small size, one can compare it with Chambord, Blois, or Azay le rideaux by the splendour of his sculptures and the smoothness of its silhouette.

Dinner and night in hotel, in St Pardoux the River. 

Day 3 :

Departure from St Pardoux for the caves of Villars.

Visit of the caves. You will meet all the types of concretions: more impressive run calcite with the finest stalactites, translucent draperies and innumerable stalagmites.

Dinner and night in hotel ** at St Saud Lacoussière.

Day 4 :

Departure from St Saud.

Pastoral lunch in Piégut, down the Keep (XI century).

Arrival the evening around 18:00 for a night in a guesthouse of Bussière Badil. According to time's, you will be able to visit a breeding of Ostriches.

Day 5 :

Departure around 10h00 in direction Varaigne and the Castle museum of Tisseraud which you will visit.

Lunch in the small village of Hautefaille.

Arrival the evening, in a  hotel *** " the Blue pond ". Dinner and bathe !

Day 6 :

Passage by the castle of Mareuil, one of the 4 baronnies of Périgord.

pastoral lunch un the Troglodytes habitats of St Pardoux de Mareuil.

Arrival at the end of the afternoon to the Monsec hotel **

Day 7 :

Departure towards the south to join the Castle of Bourdeille.

Visit of the castle dating from XIII century.

The feudal fortress (XIIème - XIVème centuries) form an enclosure with machicolation. It is dominated by a 35 height meters single octagonal keep, including 4 stages arched and 2,40 meters thick walls.

Pastoral lunch in Bourdeille

Arrival in Brantôme at the end of the afternoon. Transfer of the riders to the hotel " Terminus " in Périgueux.

Day 8 : Dispersion of the group at the station of Périgueux.
